Easy Wooden Headboard

If you remember,
almost two years ago,
I built 2 wooden twin size bed frames (project HERE) out of a futon frame.
I initially just used a canopy to hang over the beds,
but this week I decided to build the headboards.
I looked in my stash and found some pieces I could use.

These were the backing of 2 solid wood bookshelves we got on

Craigslist for $5.

I then headed to Lowe's with my 6 year old to buy 3 pieces of 1x3 wood.
So for less than $6, I was able to make not one, but two headboards.
That makes each headboard only $3.
Pretty simple concept.

Straight cuts.
Less than 1 hour.

I painted the headboards with gray paint.
That's what I had.

Worked perfect for this project.

Stay Frugal,
Daniela

Dearest Daniela,
You are a SUPER WOMAN that keeps on surprising us. This is again so genial for even thinking about re-purposing those pieces! Hats off to you girl.
Hugs,
Mariette

You are amazing, girl!!! Couldn't look nicer if you had spent a lot of $$!!
I LOVE things like this!!! I am beginning to llok for bunk beds on Craig's List for the guest room. Double bottom, twin top AND a trundle! We have lots of little bodies to sleep!

So cute! I love how you create with what you have and for so cheap, it's awesome!
