about

My name is Daniela. For a while I have been thinking about starting a blog! As a mom of 3 young children, I feel the need to let my creativity roll...hence the blog. Frugal ain't cheap started as a joke with my husband RN, because there is a net distinction between being frugal and being cheap.

Being frugal is about trying to “make do” with what you have before you spend money on something you might not need, spending money wisely, getting the best price you can find without thinking the cheapest item is always the best one.
Being cheap is about always buying the cheapest item no matter the quality, stiffing a waitress on a tip and brag about it. Cheap people are stingy.

Piacere conoscerti, Daniela! (Glad to meet you!) It seems that we switched places--I was born in the northern part of the USA (Michigan) but now live in beautiful, tranquil Abruzzo. We lived for many years in northern Italy though. (Actually, we've lived all over the country.)
We love it here, and after 25 years, it's definitely Home. Glad to have met you. Ciao!
