I have not been updating about our garage rec room conversion,
but we are making progress.
Electrical has been taking care of, the walls are getting the waterproof treatment, and the carriage style doors have been installed.
Originally I wanted to build the doors myself,
I had my plans done.
But life with little children (and life in general),
can get very busy.
So my husband and I decide to have our friend John building the doors for us.
He can build anything.
I told him what I wanted, the material to use
(remember, I had my plans done with materials cost and everything),
and he made these
awesome doors for us.
I couldn't be happier.
As far as cost,
it actually was very reasonable,
and cheaper than buying new (cheap) garage doors.
These are customized to what we wanted,
and yes, I wanted true carriage doors that swing out.
I will be painting/staining the doors soon.
I am leaning toward a two tones, brown and white for the trim.
Any suggestions?
Stay Frugal,

Dearest Daniela,
Your friend John is an excellent handy man too and those carriage-style doors turned out excellent!
Painting them with white trim for contrast will make them look really nice. Congrats on having this completed!
Hugs,
Mariette
I love the design, Daniella! He did an awesome job bring it to reality. The contrasting color you have in mind would make them pop. Enjoy them!

Those doors are just gorgeous! I like your idea of the 2-tone, but they would be pretty whatever you do.
I love your new doors! They look so old fashioned (which i love). Your friend did a great job making those. Looks like things are coming together quickly for you.
