Garage sale finds

This morning started early,
as Saturdays are my long run days.
 6.15am, 8 miles, 29° F
A cold morning to be out, but as I got home, I noticed one of our neighbour was having a garage sale.

I went over after defrosting to see what she had, and this is what

I bought.

don't worry, this is getting a makeover...but for .25c, I could not pass it up
yes, some things are still free in life

I did the math for you.
Total spent $2
I happily walked back home.
Now, does anyone know how to open a vintage suitcase without keys?
Either way, I don't think most people store stuff in it anyway, so I am totally fine if it never gets open.
This will be some of the decor in our soon to be sunroom!

Stay Frugal,
Daniela

For the suitcase, I suggest a hairpin from Emma Peal's bun. It would work in a film!

Dearest Daniela,
That is quite a score after your defrosting time!
You are tough.
Enjoy your Sunday.

I guess it paid off to go for an early morning run didn't it? LOL! I think you did well! Love that horse weathervane the most. That will make a great accent piece in your sun room.

Is the suit case actually locked or just rusted shut.
Try spraying alittle WD40 on the lock and use a paper clip or something and see if it will open.
Got some wonderful bargains there.
Love that weather vane

Great finds! I love the patina on the metal pieces...I'd suggest searching on Etsy for a key to your luggage piece...or seeing if a friend might have vintage luggage keys to try.

Looks like you got some great stuff! I recently found a weather vane like yours except it's a rooster and it's copper colored.

I would not be able to rest until I got that suitcase open!! lol! How about a bobby pin?

Get Out!! You got that weather vane for a buck???!! So jealous! We used to pick our suitcase locks with a bobby pin just for fun when we were kids. Looks like the same kind.

Super fun finds!! That is a total score for 25 cents on the wood circle with wheels, the wheels are worth way more than that!! One of my favorite things about running early on weekends is seeing the garage sales, on several occasions I have had people hold stuff for me with the promise that I would get it after my run!! Good luck with the suitcase, it looks cute not opened though, it would make a fun side table!
