In the closet

Just in case you were wondering where have I been...I have been in this closet!
Linen closet, that is.
It all started because we needed to replace some plumbing (welcome to our 1966 home).
Not just any plumbing, the shower's plumbing.
Thankfully we have a closet on the wall where the water lines run. So the drywall was cut and the work began!

Yes to new pipes!
Now, before I put all the stuff back in there, I decided I needed to pretty up the closet...a little.
Here it is in the all glory. NOT.
Pink-ish.
As it was the rest of the bathroom when we moved in, six years ago.
The pink was soon gone...but not in the closet.
I mean, who would ever open your linen closet? right?
Well, pink no more.
Here you can really see how pink the closet was.
I am still going through the stuff that was in there, and therefore purging from a bunch of it.
Also I needed the new drywall and paint to dry well, therefore I gave it a couple of days to air it out.
The paint is the same I used when I remodeled the bathroom a little over a year ago.
No pink here. lol

Stay Frugal,

Your house was born the same year I graduated from high school. It made me think about my best friend moving into a brand new house right by our high school. It was 'high tech' for the time. Now, if it hasn't been redone, it probably needs to be.

How nice to have fresh shelves and a fresh start on what you will keep.

I actually WAS wondering where you were. Ha ha! I should've known your hiatus was due to fancying up something. ;)

Hugs,

Good Morning Daniela, I guessed you were being your usual "busy bee" and were creating something wonderful for us all to see.
A little bit of paint makes all the difference, the tired pink cupboard has been turned in to a bright, fresh cupboard.
Now you will have fun organising the cupboard.
Have a lovely Sunday.
Best Wishes
Daphne

White always freshens up so nicely. Good thing the shower fix worked. I like the wood shelves with the white too.

Gosh, that pink color really gives away the date of your home doesn't it? LOL! Pink was such a popular color then. Although, it's now making a comeback for vintage lovers I hear. I'm sure you were able to get a lot cleaned out by pulling everything out to re-paint it. It looks great! Sometimes, it's scary to think what you'll find in your closet after it's been left alone for so long.

I love the contrast between the white walls and the dark wooden shelves, I would love to open this linen closet every day.

Way to take lemons & make lemonade. :)I actually just turned my 1945 linen closet into an Etsy closet! I figured it would get more use - and I'm just keeping the linens in the rooms where they belong.
Looks like a new closet! Will you make a little door for your pluming access? I've seen it done that way...

Love the white of course and the shelves are pretty cool too! I wish i had a linen closet. Houses built in the 1800's didn't have closets :(

Who would see it? YOU! And you deserve the pretty new look. It looks so fresh, and now you will sigh a nice sigh of happiness every time you open it.

Let me know before you throw out any old sheets! I am looking for some sheets to use to make a rag rug for our new house! :)

You certainly keep yourself busy. This is one heck of a transformation. Leave it to you to do it all for under $50.

Nothing like paint transformation, cheap and big impact! It looks great!

Love the transformation! I have a closet in my bathroom that needs a makeover. It's white, but when my dad painted my bathroom, he forgot the closet. It looks very similar to yours in style and size. Maybe because my house was built in the 1960s as well. lol You are truly making your house a home. And you're very good at it too. Your family is blessed to have you. :-)
