Post Office Box to wooden box

Don't tell me that I am the only one who has plenty of boxes hanging around the house...
I came up with this quick project and transformed the card box into something more appealing.

First pick a box that will fit in the space you are going to use it.
I used a medium size post office box.

Cut the box down an inch or so
(so that the shims will cover all of it).
Then I got my trustworthy shims and glue gun, and started gluing the shims in an up and down pattern.
And that is that.

I left the wood bare, because I like how it fits in the white bathroom with few other "natural" accents.
This new look is definitely better than the post office look :)
...and it only cost me around .50c
To see our bathroom addition and renovation

Stay Frugal,

Leave it to you to find a way to use a cardboard box in your decor. Covering it with wood scraps gives it an eclectic look and now serves a purpose. That's great!

Yes, much better than a postal box.

What a great idea! It looks great and goes with that room perfectly. I just redid our powder room and it has a beachy feel too! If you wanted to see it, here is the link.
