Watermelon party

The last couple of days I have been busy planning and hosting my oldest "baby" birthday party...a watermelon theme.
The party was yesterday.
...yes, summer ain't over yet :)
Here few pictures of decor and food.
We ate the watermelon too...

The children had so much fun with chalk, hula hoops, and few other activities/games.

...looked like this at the end of the day

The cake: Angel food cake with cream cheese frosting. Strawberries and kiwi (to resemble a watermelon) + chocolate chips for the "seeds".
Cost for the cake: less than $5
Birthday girl eating the cake with a smile: priceless

Stay Frugal,

Happy Birthday to Miss Rachele!! I love how cute that cake was. Genius! It's actually healthier too because of the fruit. It's really best to keep things simple for younger ones anyway. It can be over stimulating for them if there's too much going on. (I know that from experience with Cody's 5 yr birthday party). Ha!

WHO could resist clicking on that cake picture! YUM! :) Something like that is far healthier anyway and kids love fruit!

Looks like a wonderful birthday!

That cake looks so good. It's still summer here too but starting to cool down a little. I have some birthday parties coming soon myself! Glad you all had fun!
