Lighting fixtures

If you remember, not too long ago I was the receiver of 4 brand new free drum shade lighting fixtures.
I have decided to use one in our bedroom, one in the bathroom and one in the entrance over the stairs.

That left me with an extra one.
So I decided to separate the double shade and use it in two different room.
I had to be creative on how to modify the

metal part to hang it from the existing fixtures.
I used one in the boy room,
and the other one in the girls room.
Both current lighting fixtures have a fan, and we definitely did not want to get rid of them.
I love fans for two reasons:
They make the room feel a couple of degrees lower (without costing much to operate),
and they make a little white noise for the kids to help them sleep.

This is what I did with the ceiling fan fixture in the girls room.
I attached the shade first,

then used these paper shades

(they were originally from a set of hanging string lights)
and hang them from the holes previously needed to hold the screws for the glass globes.
I added different length for dimension and to hide the view of the lightbulbs.
The girls now have their very own chandelier.

And this is how the one in the boy room looks.
I will show the other drum shades once we change them all out.

Stay Frugal,
Daniela

Those are such creative ways to use those drum shade lights. I never would've thought to do that. I bet the kids love them.

Very ingenious! I love how you added the paper lanterns! I always buy them in the summer for hanging outside on the patio. They create a neat look.

Dearest Daniela,
Your lights are so unique and beautiful for each individual room's use; that you never would have found them at any 'lampadari' in Italy!
Genial - as usual!

Mariette

Oh I bet the girls have fun looking up into their light fixture. Such fun. And I love the way you added the mobile underneath the other one. Now everyone can have their share of the drum shade goodness. :-)
