This month has been a busy one.
I feel like I have not stopped a minute,
and still I haven't accomplished quite as much as I would have liked.
I have been running almost every day of the week,
which has to be done before the children are up,
and before husband goes to work.
I dread to see 5.30am and 6am.
(but not for much longer)
Between running and just regular life,
I have been able to get a few projects done...
or at least started.
After our sunroom had been built,
we were left with a muddy backyard.
digging up a trench and make a dry creek bed with (free) rocks.
I started digging...so that's the start of my project.
Then
last week I went to Lowe's to "price check" some material...
and
came back with a minivan full of deck boards.
I
am not sure why my husband was surprised (obviously speechless).
He
should know by now that...I am just a "Lowe's" kind of girl.
I found some material on sale
(for a total of $60)
(for a total of $60)
and decided it would be a good idea to build a "floating" deck next to a fire pit area.
So today I started to lay some concrete blocks that we already had.
The challenge of building a floating deck in our backyard, is the fact that I am dealing with a slope...which is not fun.
That said, I started to level the foundation.
Once that is done, the actual deck will go fast.
At least that's what I am hoping.
I will probably work on this next week...after this Marathon is over.
Until then, I'll keep on running.
Stay Frugal,
Daniela

You are a one woman wonder, Dani! I hope that the run goes great and I know you will do well!!! Blessings and Happy Easter Sunday night- ox Diana
I'm so impressed you're going to do the deck on your own. It's very inspiring for us who wouldn't dare to do it, but now think "maybe"! Thanks.
Best wishes on your marathon, Dani. Digging is hard, back-breaking work (you don't need me to tell you that, do you?). Combined with the running, you must be at the top of your game, girl! Do it while you can!
This will be wonderful. I may have to do the same thing in our cause my husband is so busy lately.
I can't wait to see.
Are YOU building this deck??? My goodness! That's some heavy lifting. Be careful. I bet you will enjoy using it when it's done.
Wow you go girl!
Dearest Daniela,
You are a super-woman that manages to leave her husband speechless. Well, if you can put that Marathon behind you, things will start looking easier and your idea is super! It is ALL doable but it takes discipline and you sure GOT that!
Wishing you the very best for the Marathon first.
Hugs,
Mariette
You make me smile, Daniela! :)
I think your idea of a floating deck is great. Please keep us posted with pictures as the project is being done. I'm sure that, despite the challenges, you will do an amazing job!
Dani,
You are super girl and I know you will do really well with the run. You have been training and getting ready so I know it will be a thrill for you.

You go girl!! Your floating deck will be wonderful!! We have one at our new house we have to tear out because trees started growing up in between the boards some time ago. I hope to rebuild it and I'll be watching you do yours!
You are too cool. Up and making your own deck, just like that. I love it. I would have told the husband to go to Lowe's (His favorite store, too!!) and price check/bring home the supplies. Can't wait to see it come to life. Good luck with the slope. grrr.
You are so amazing. :-)
Praying for your final days of running. You are doing great. Keep us posted.
I don't know where you get all your energy from. ;-) My boys used to groan when I mentioned I wanted a trip to a home improvement or hardware store. Fortunately their wives shared my love and it's rubbed off on my boys. Your husband shouldn't be surprised.
