Since I got these large 1/2 gallon jars,
I slanted the crates at an angle.
This project was made with a screwdriver only
(back then I had the store cut the wood in half for me).
Anyway, I am still keeping the bottom crate to store potatoes.
(I use a placemat to keep the potatoes in the dark)
The top 2 crates now hold most of my glass jars.
I did not labeled my jars,
but you could paint the lids with chalkboard paint,
If you are looking into making a simple and cheap shelf to organize your kitchen,
this is definitely the way to go.
Stay Frugal,
Daniela

What a fun way to store your supplies.
I laughed that you made the piece with just a screwdriver. That is right up my alley.
I'm so jealous...I want those wine boxes. ;)

I am planning to build a pantry this summer...and this is just up my alley.
LOVE IT!
Great idea Daniela! It must be strong to hold all those glass bottles.
Love that shelf system you made. That looks like the perfect way to store those jars.
That was a great idea for nice looking storage!
What a great idea. I have said it before and will say it again- you are very clever in your usage of things you come across or already have. xo Diana

Love this shelf Dani and the fact that you made it with just a screwdriver is great!

This would be a great display piece in a store too. Love it!
Dearest Daniela,
That is a very practicle solution and the slanted angle makes it handy too. Glass jars would not need any labeling as the contents are visible.
Hugs to you,
Mariette
storage is always a good thing! i use the half gallon jars, too. I make kombucha tea with them, and use them to store grains, too.
Fantastic shelving! I love the total look of the piece, mason jars and all. I love the wine crates. Unfortunately I've not been able to find any or when I do they are expensive. I'll keep my eyes open just in case. I always love your work and how everything ties in together in your home. :-)
I love this! I'm in the middle of making a sewing room and needed shelving ideas. Luckily I have a few wine crates I can use. Thanks for the inspiration.
