It always feels good to finish a project, especially a big one!
Here how this project all began.
A couple of free samples from Lowes.
Actually 3 free samples and I bought one, for a total of four of these.
So the paint cost me only $3 (for one extra sample).
I also bought a clear wax paste $10
Pretty much this was A LOT of work, since the old paint on the cabinets had to be sanded down.
I also reused and repositioned the same handles we had.
So here just pictures on how this now looks.
Here is my $5 backsplash
My free pallett crate project
This kitchen has come a LONG way from how it originally looked. But this is how it looked before this cabinets redo.
cabinets were previously painted in "Bavarian Cream" |
cabinets are now painted in "Country Tan" |
I will have to find the pictures we took when we moved in seven years ago.
Cabinets are done $13 spent.
Stay Frugal,

It's very sweet with a cottage feel! I really like. It looks European (kitchens I see on Pinterest!) I especially like the backsplash that you made. It looks like stone!
Great job!
Wow- That looks great and you can't beat the price, Dani! You did a wonderful job. Your kitchen looks warm and homey- xo Diana
Your kitchen is lovely, Daniela. The new cabinet colour is really nice and it must feel great to be finished such a large project.

Oh Em Gee. It looks fantastical!!! And I totally thought that was real tile until I read that backsplash post. And the bavarian cream is absolutely gorgeous. And now I want one of the creme-filled doughnut thingies.

Looks so clean and new Dani...love how you used the hardware too!
I love how your cabinets look now! I like the hardware straightened too. You did a great job! I'm very impressed with how inexpensively you did this project. You are always so clever. Enjoy your beautiful kitchen!
I know this was a lot of work, but you really stretched that $13 and samples. I'm really impressed. If you come up with a budget solution for countertops, let me know. Mine need to go to the recycling bin. lol
Dearest Daniela,
Worthy for any magazine and very practical! That backsplash had such an enormous impact on the total look! And your shades in front of the window are looking much better. You know what you are doing; even straightening those cabinet pulls made a huge difference again!
Love your hanging pans from the special lowered wooden ceiling square.
That is great for working very efficient this way. Smart for using those Valspar color samples.
Kudos to you and a hug,
Mariette
How beautiful! I love the hardware you chose. Everything looks so fresh and pretty!
You did wonders to your kitchen, Daniela! I love the backsplash, the new window treatment and of course the new color, beautiful!
What a deal. It looks so good. Did you paint the counters. I will have to do a search to see what else you have done.
Wow 13 dollars!! It looks amazing! Give yourself a high five..
It looks great and the price can't be beat. I started my kitchen then got busy with work. I am hoping to have it finished before the holidays to enjoy.
Thirteen bucks?? Fabulous! Amazing what a little paint can do! Nice job!
Looks great! I painted my kitchen cabinets about a year and a half ago and that is a huge project. I didn't want to paint anything for a couple of months when I was done. What is your backsplash?
Wow, what a difference! Your kitchen looks gorgeous!! And on that budget..?! You seriously need to have your own tv show! :)
Susan
You did an amazing thing with everything. The paint colour you chose makes the kitchen a lot lighter. I can't believe you managed to paint all the cabinets with your four samples. Well done!
So gorgeous! Love the look and love that you got it done for basically nothing!
You made $13 look like a million!
