A couple of months ago I found the perfect size wire basket, at the right price
(can you beat $1?!?).
But the basket had a few "hooks"
and could not be used with those things sticking out.
Finally this morning,
I called my husband at work, asking him if he had an hacksaw...you know, to cut metal.
He said yes, told me where it was and then asked me "what do you need it for?"
"I just need to cut a wire basket..."
my response.
(as if that is a normal thing to do)
So I did, and it took me less than 5minutes do do this.
I filled my baskets with kitchen towels and a couple of cutting boards that I use.
And I am happy to say that I love having both of these items handy.
I also added few handmade wooden spoons that one of my Italian uncle made.
This basket will go on a project/furniture that I am working on.
Will show you when I am all done.
Stay Frugal,
Daniela

It's awesome! And I'm absolutely in love with your vintage cutting boards!
Dearest Daniela,
You ROCK! Great idea and you solve almost any little flaw with the use of common sense + a hacksaw!
Hugs,
Mariette
The cutting boards and tea towels look great in your now-fixed wire basket. I have two red ones I picked up at the thrift store that need to be spray painted to better suit our home. Another project for when I am home this summer. Six more days of work.
The basket is cute, but I'm loving that it can hold towels and cutting boards. You are lucky to have an uncle who made you your wooden spoons, I would smile each time I used them.
Very nice! That's using the old noggin'. Love that you have an uncle who makes wooden spoons. Lucky you! They are something to be treasured.
Ha! I make calls to my husband with similar requests all the time :). Great minds. I love your basket and all the things you've tucked away in there.
Love your fearlessness with tools!
You have the best luck finding wire baskets to use! I like how you used this one. The wooden cutting boards and towels look so nice paired together. Looks like it belongs in a farmhouse kitchen!
LOVE how you've styled this!! And for a buck...?? :)

hmmm I don't have a hacksaw, it sure goes to my list of tools to buy! I love the basket, I keep on looking for those at yard sales or flea markets but haven't been that lucky! The cutting boards are lovely too.
I just love metal baskets! I also told my son this morning that I need a hand saw to keep in my office!
Love the basket. Definitely looking forward to the entire project. :-)
I recently picked up a basket just like this, hooks and all! Hmmm...
Looks great!
