Italy Map

Last time my Mother in law came to visit, she gave me this map she bought.
Obviously, I had to put this in our

living room room.
Right?
Such a sweet reminder of my roots.

I really wanted to do something special for this map, so I used a couple of slats from a wooden pallet and
built a wooden frame here.
Very simple cuts.
No frills.

To attach the map I used these pins that I already had.

I like the rustic, imperfect feel

I like to look at it...just because.
Couldn't be any more perfect.
Are you dreaming of Italy yet?

Stay Frugal,

Perfectly simple and I really like where you have it with all the industrial pieces. Perfect too for a girl from Italy! My friends' daughter is in Sicily on exchange until May and she is loving it.

Dearest Daniela,
You make me just a little bit homesick for Italy... It has forever a special spot in our heart; we lived and worked there.
You are such a clever girl; wow, this looks perfect indeed. Your Mother-in-law will be very pleased with this result.
Hugs to you and happy Palm Sunday.

Great idea! I have few maps that I brought back with me from Home/Sicily. I would love to display them this way. Do you think it would be a good idea to add plexiglass on top?

Daniela, I love maps! They make you feel connected to the places they represent and look awesome to boot. Of course it had to go in your living room! I love the way you mounted it. Have a Happy Easter. Visiting from Savvy. Love, Wanda

I love how you mounted your map! I just purchased an 1858 plantation map that I'm going to frame up somehow. Thanks for sharing!

I do love the look of maps, especially aged ones. The rustic feel is perfect, especially with the nearby chicken wire. You never cease to amaze me with how you decorate each corner of your home. You're definitely "owning" your space, and I love that!
