This is the story of a little red chair I got for free.
I had this for few months and debated to sand it and paint it to put in our girls' new bedroom.
But I kept thinking that it might not be a good idea.
But I kept thinking that it might not be a good idea.
Second, during the fight, they would totally trip over this thing and hurt themselves.
Third, I still can't find my sander...I know, I might just have to buy a new one...
So here came the idea of just leave the paint on there, give it a coat of polyurethane, and park it outside our front door.
Adding a potted plant...that the hubby got for me this last Valentine's Day...
Nothing say "Welcome Home" like a rocker (or chair) on your front porch if you live in the South...
The best part is that it did not cost me a dime.

its so cute and it looks wonderful with the plant in it, i love the rocker on the front porch, we had one on our porch too, in fact I have one on the balcony!
so cute and i love that you left it just the way it was!
It does have great patina just the way it is. It would look adorable at Christmas time with a small Christmas tree lit up in it. I was thinking about that since it was red.
I'm curious, if you find your sander, will you redo it and allow for a fight to break out over it OR will you leave it looking very sweet and welcoming by you front door?
I'm so glad you were worried about a fight, injuries and couldn't find your sander because it's perfect as is! You would regret it if you painted it. It is really adorable. I also love the idea of putting it on the front porch with a plant, plus the kids can rock in it if they ever want to, right? Win/Win!

Sooooo cute!!
This is such a cute chair. I remember having one of these when I was a kid. It is serving a wonderful purpose. And, no one will fight over it. :-)
What an adorable chair! I'm glad you left it in its original state.
So cute! Love it with the potted plant!
I fell in love with the chippy red deliciousness from the very first picture! Glad you left it.
What a perfect spot for your plant to "sit". It is perfect just like it is!

Red vintage chair, I think it was meant to stay as is! I like it.
That little red chair is just perfect imperfection! I love the patina on it, and it looks fabulous on your front porch! :)

Great decision! It has such a look of age on it. You can only imagine the stories it has to tell.

Yep and that is the story of the little red chair. I think it looks adorable outside anyhow. Just think around Christmas how cute it will look too. Thanks for sharing.
Oh, I'm so glad you didn't paint it! I love it just the way it is. It's worn to perfection! :)
So adorable! I think you made the right choice to leave it be. I once had a large weathered old rocker with a bad seat so I kept it outside the back door. I put a pot of yellow lantana which looks like golden fireworks---grows so well down here in Louisiana. Unfortunately, I didn't think to put protective coat on like you so, after a few years, it was a goner. Thanks for sharing and inspiring!
I love it just the way it is! Perfect place to show it off!
It is just perfect with the pot in the seat! Love!!! Thanks for sharing at Gettin' Krafty!
