Beef Stroganoff

When I cook, my first priority is making sure we are getting all the requirements for a healthy balanced meal.
Then, my second priority is how fast I can make it and how budget friendly it is.

I cook around what I have already (bought on weekly store ads), and according on what I find on sale at the store that week.
This week I found mushrooms and onions on sale,
and I had the ground beef in the freezer already...perfect combination for
Beef Stroganoff.

Ingredients:

1 (12 ounce) package egg noodles, cooked and drained

    1/2lb fresh mushrooms, sliced

    1 onion, chopped

    2T butter

    1/2 lb ground beef

    4 tablespoons all-purpose flour

    2 cups beef broth

    16oz sour cream

salt and black pepper to taste
***the recipe calls for 1lb of ground beef, I don't use much meat in general...but I do load up on extra veggies!***

Directions:

Brown ground beef in butter with onion and mushrooms.

Stir in flour until blended.

Add beef broth, salt & pepper.

Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Add sour cream and heat through.

Do not allow to come to a full boil.

This homemade stroganoff makes for a great meal with leftovers.
I also made a side of green beans and had
our rustic bread with it.

Stay Frugal,

You're so smart to know how to come up with recipes on your own like that with what's on sale at the store. That meal looks wonderful!

Hello Daniela, that is the sign of a good cook, someone who can look in their store cupboard and create a meal for their family. The Stroganoff looks delicious. Best Wishes Daphne
