Vacation and frugal tips

I haven't been able to catch up on visiting your blog...
I actually have a good excuse...a VERY good one.
It is called vacation.
 Can you smell the beach?
 These are not angry birds...
How about I caught this jellyfish with a Princess pail...without getting stung!
 And  finally...
Arghhh!

tips for a frugal vacation:
- eat out only one meal a day (lunch is cheaper than dinner, and you get just as much food).
- If you are like me and would rather not cook at all, you can still get a ready to go meal, spending much less than going to a restaurant. For example: rotisserie chicken, bag of salad, cheese bread and ice cream for about $20 (it feeds our family for 2 meals).
- stop at at the welcome center as soon as you get there. You'll find coupons for restaurants, list of activities to do (some are even free), and you can ask the person there what they recommend.

Stay Frugal,

a friend of mine is on the board of the nc welcome centers and she always tells me how much she wishes folks would contact them when visiting. Folks would be surprised the freebies they could get and all the places giving huge discounts thru the welcome center of " whatever" area.

looks like you had a good time and I'm sure you deserve it.

you are so right about Eating out in any tourist area. You have to know where you're going and who to talk to about the best food at the best deal.

just passing on this tip for your next trip:: google city data of where ever you are going and ask the locals. I've always gotten many many great answers from people who live in the area or visit often enough to have the " inside info" on a place..

What beautiful beach pictures! I am deathly afraid of jelly fish, I can't believe you caught one. Thanks for the great money saving tips too!

Those are some great tips for saving money. Vacations are expensive! How cool that you were able to catch a live jelly fish like that. I'll be sure to show Will. He'll think that is neat! I've been stung by them before. I'd be petrified to swim in the ocean knowing they're in there. I hope y'all are having a good time. Today is our last day of summer break. Boo Hoo!

Welcome back, I hope you had a great time! I finally convinced my family to eat out at lunch, it's also much less stressful than dealing with the sunburned dinner crowd!
