Easter Pizza

This year for Easter I was not able to do much with and for the children, due to health stuff going on. But tonight the children wanted to make pizza, so here we got to work and made egg shape pizza (2 of which were smaller personal size for the little big girls!). That said, homemade pizza always makes for an easy, fast, and fun meal with or without children!!
All you need is your favorite homemade pizza dough.
I use 1T yeast, add 1 1/2 c warm water, pinch of salt and 3c whole wheat flour. Mix with a wooden spoon, cover and let it rise 1 to 2 hours.
When ready add more flour as you roll the pizza dough and make into desired shape.
I ended up making 2 big pizzas (1 oval and 1 round) and 2 small ones.

Then add the pizza sauce (1 small can of tomatoes sauce+pinch of oregano+salt+1T olive oil...no cooking required)

mozzarella cheese and your favorite toppings. Tonight we used some leftover caramelized onions, pepperoni, hard boil egg, shredded zucchini, ham cubes. You could use just about anything...

The girls decorated their own egg shaped pizza...maybe one day they'll open their own Pizzeria!

Bake for 15-20 minutes on 400F (450F depending on your oven)

And there you have it fabulous healthy and hot pizza night...for less than $3 total...which most of it is the cost of the cheese ;-)

p.s. I was not able to take a picture of the baked final product, because everyone was so hungry, and we only had 3 slices left!

This looks like so much fun! I have to remember to do it for my girls next Easter.
