I absolutely l-o-v-e clothes pins.
I do.
And I use them quite often.
Not just for actually hanging clothes on the clothes line, but I use them around the house too.
(bag clip anyone?)
I have lots of clothes pins hanging around,
so I decided to stain them with
This stain is the most simple and natural stain than you will ever find.
And costs very, very little.
So I stared with this,
put a few in the jar
(depending on how big your jar is)
with the vinegar stain,
let them sit in it for about 3-4 minutes.
Pull them out and let it dry.
And voila',
now you have vintage clothes pins.
I filled a jar to keep in my kitchen.
Stay Frugal,
Daniela

These are so cute aged. I should do this with mine, I know I would like them better!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!
ReplyDeleteI have to share this about my "vintage" clothespins. I had done a post when I first started blogging that showed my clothes line with the clothes pins. Someone commented and asked where I got my vintage clothespins and said she loved the way they looked. They weren't old. They just stay on my line all year round..rain, snow, sun...They are weathered but not old. I sent her some of my used clothespins and she loved them.
I know this may not sound good but you are the queen of all things wood.
ReplyDeleteWow.. good to know... but, I haven't seen clothes pins in a long while oh wait... Yes, we used them to play a game at a bridal shower the good ole clothes pin game on a hanger.. remember that one?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great share! Just love this idea! Thanks for the great tutorial!!
ReplyDeleteHope your week is wonderful!

I've made some of these too...but never thought to leave a mixture in the jar ready for more. Ah-ha...that's why you are the smart "frugal" girl :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea if you're using them for show. I use them for bag clips too. So handy!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to use that treatment on something BIG! Furniture, maybe...
ReplyDeleteThey're even more charming weathered.

What a great idea! Sure beats leaving them lay outside for a year!
ReplyDeleteI love the looks of these. I use clothespins a lot too. Around the house and for craft projects. I will have to try this out.
ReplyDeleteFound you at Pretty Things linky party.

This is so cool! I keep a jar of them in my kitchen too, but now I know how to make them look old! Thanks for the tip!
