When I start harvesting our basil,
it's a sign that Summer is here
(almost...the last few days we had much cooler temperatures)
I love basil.
and yes...you can grow basil in pots.
Caprese salad.
Pesto requires few ingredients,
but make sure
you use quality ingredients.
I grow pretty much all our ingredients,
so I definitely know what I am eating.
(well, the extra virgin olive oil and almonds come from our Italian family farm...close enough)
Stay Frugal,

I've never made pesto before. I like basil too. It smells so good! It's great that you can use all fresh ingredients to make it.
ReplyDeleteDearest Daniela,
ReplyDeleteWOW, another great recipe shared!
Your basil looks so very healthy and this is just a great use of it.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
I am growing basil in my herb garden and really didn't know what to do with it!! This recipe will definitely get me started!!! Thank for sharing it!!
ReplyDeleteI think it is amazing that you have an Italian farm. :-))
ReplyDeleteWe built our new compost system. With inspiration from you!
I will blog about it sometime in June.
I will be taking a blog break to plant our garden.
Have a great week!
Carla
I love pesto! And when it's homemade, it taste sweeter than when it's store bought (those always have an aftertaste I don't like).
ReplyDeleteOh, I love pesto! This year I finally grew a vegetable garden, and Basil was one of the plants that did great. I make my pesto with pine nuts, gotta try almonds since I love those too.
