Pesto the Easy Way

When I start harvesting our basil,
it's a sign that Summer is here
(almost...the last few days we had much cooler temperatures)

I love basil.
and yes...you can grow basil in pots.

Caprese salad.

Pesto requires few ingredients,
but make sure

you use quality ingredients.

I grow pretty much all our ingredients,
so I definitely know what I am eating.
(well, the extra virgin olive oil and almonds come from our Italian family farm...close enough)

Stay Frugal,
Daniela

  1. I've never made pesto before. I like basil too. It smells so good! It's great that you can use all fresh ingredients to make it.

  4. I think it is amazing that you have an Italian farm. :-))

We built our new compost system. With inspiration from you!
I will blog about it sometime in June.
I will be taking a blog break to plant our garden.
    Have a great week!

  5. I love pesto! And when it's homemade, it taste sweeter than when it's store bought (those always have an aftertaste I don't like).

  6. Oh, I love pesto! This year I finally grew a vegetable garden, and Basil was one of the plants that did great. I make my pesto with pine nuts, gotta try almonds since I love those too.
