I love moments like these.
When life slows down and connections are built.
It can be challenging to slow down in a world that demands us
to always move at high speed,
but I like to savor moments like this.
Teaching our children skills that will stay with them the rest of their lives.
I love to sit down and work and talk to our children.
We end up talking, laughing and really building "team work".
Nothing more precious.
Now, as we leave a year behind and embrace the new one,
I like to have some goals.
I know,
some people don't like "new year resolutions",
but I do.
I see goals as opportunities.
No goals, no target to hit.
Speaking of goals,
In a couple of weeks
I will start training for my 3rd full marathon.
26.2 miles.
I have a plan,
but it will be harder than the ones I had in the past 2 years.
And since I will be running lots of miles,
I see pasta making being definitely a weekly activity.
Win, win.
Stay Frugal,
Daniela
Dearest Daniela,
ReplyDeleteWhat a touching photo to see your children actually learning how to make pasta! So far away from Italy, yet living the culture and tradition and how delicious such a meal will tast! Like you say, team effort.
You are certainly a great role model in so many ways and your 'nonnas' will be smiling down from heaven!
Big hug to you and blessings for the final day and wishing you a healthy and Happy New Year!
Mariette
PS Having a bad flu but I did finally manage to install a new FeedBurner and now my blog posts are updating again. It was not done since December 20... aggravating!
Bellissimo creare questi momenti in famiglia, fare la pasta insieme… meraviglioso!
ReplyDeleteBuon Anno
Un abbraccio, Mary
So sweet to see your kids learning the art of making pasta. You go girl so proud of you to do the marathons. What a wonderful achievement for this past year and also for the new year to come. Happy New Year.

I enjoyed your post. I am the same with my kids, we like to do things together and it brings out so much in us...laughing, stories and fun. Even if it is work. :-)
ReplyDeleteYippee for your hard work on the Marathon! Keep us posted.
Carla
LOVE this!!! HAppy New Year!!!
ReplyDeleteWell it's only fitting that you would teach your kids how to cook Italian the authentic way as you were taught! You've got to keep the tradition going! Good luck with your new marathon plans this year. You always amaze me with how far you run and how often. Be on the lookout for a package (for the kids) coming your way soon. So sorry that I missed seeing you guys while you were here.
ReplyDeleteThose make my mouth water!
ReplyDeleteYou are so cute. I laughed when I saw the pasta..Bet it was good though. Wishing you well. xoxo,Susie
