Barstools and chairs

Today's post is about bars tools and chairs.
Actually counter stools, not barstool.

Counter stools sit approx 24-25" high, and barstools sit approx 29-30".

Anyway, I have been looking for a couple of backless stools.
Since our kitchen is not big, I wanted backless stool, to visually open up the space.
Thing is, I really liked how comfortable our stools were.
I didn't want to get rid of them.

So I got out the measuring tape, skill saw and hand sander.
In less than 10 minutes

I turned the stools into chairs.
(I cut off 7")
We always need more chairs.
Being a family of 5, when we have dinner guest over (every week),
most time we need extra seating.
on the left it's the original counter stool,
on the right is the "new" chair

We have a long and skinny table with 8 chairs, plus at times we have to add the folding table with 4 folding chairs.
We also have this 2 seater bench.
The stools, now chairs, look good with the existing chairs and table.
The "new" chairs sit at each ends table.

And back to the search to find other stools that were comfortable.
Keep in mind we use the stools a lot.
All of us.
So metal counter stools were out of the question.
Wooden seat stools (without the possibility of adding padding) were out as well.
For those of you who don't have much of a back lower natural padding...you know what I mean.

We decided our best option would be a rush seat stool.
They are comfortable and I like the look.
Win win.

Stay Frugal,
Daniela

  6. Dearest Daniela,
You solved this again in a genial way! Looks good and does not obstruct any view and thus making the room look tinier.

  8. What a fantastic idea! Needing extra chairs why not use something you already had. They came out lovely and I like your new stools too.

  9. Love the rush seats you found, I also have to use backless stools in my kitchen - not much space. Great idea on using the others as chairs, they look much better like that!
