I admit,
I am not a fan of drinking vegetables...
just not my thing.
Plus, I eat plenty of them...
But I like smoothies during Summer time,
so I made this Carrot Cake Smoothie.
See, as long as I call it "Carrot Cake"...I am ok with drinking it.
Fresh carrots are really good for us.
This is how I made it:
1 c chopped carrots (about 2-3 carrots)
1 banana (fresh or frozen)
1
c of milk (or milk substitute)
2 T raisins
1 t vanilla extract
½
t cinnamon
½ cup ice
Blend all together,
and drink it up.
This makes enough for me and my children to share (2 tall glasses).
This smoothie is about 350cal total,
if you drink it all by yourself.
Of course I have to add a little whipped cream to my "dessert".
Stay Frugal,
Yummy. I will have to try this.
ReplyDeleteI am into juicing. I love carrot, apple and ginger.
:-)
I drink a lot of smoothies and this sounds yummy. Pinning :)

It looks interesting to try! Especially since, you called it "carrot cake" :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteGood grief, I wish one of those were sitting here in front of me right now. Looks delicious!
ReplyDeletewow!!! I think this sounds so yummy.
ReplyDeleteThat actually looks pretty good. I bet the bananas and other ingredients help to offset the carrot taste! I love carrot cake too.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds delicious. Grace loves smoothies as much as I do. Glad to hear it makes enough to share.
ReplyDeleteI just may have to try this!! It's a wonderful thing to share healthy options with our children.....I am here to tell you that when they grow up they most likely will continue to eat and drink just as they have done when children! All four of mine have!
ReplyDeleteI love carrot cake, so I will try it! If you say it's good, I know it is. :)
ReplyDeleteOh- That does sound good. I go through spells of drinking smoothies and then not wanting to see one for months! lol xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThis is a timely post for me as I am just getting into the summer smoothie thing. This looks delicious! Do you need a powerful blender to get the carrots blended or will my regular blender do okay?
ReplyDeleteOH I am making mine tomorrow first thing in the morning.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Dearest Daniela,
ReplyDeleteFunny how you rename it in order to 'like' it more!
The 10 health benefits are really giving the carrot a high status. Eating carrots for a glowing healthy skin is far better than tanning in the sun...
Hugs,
Mariette
Squeal!!! yummy! xo
ReplyDeleteYummy! I had some carrots I was trying to use up. This is delicious!
