One thing I know for sure is that I love reclaimed wood.
It's so pretty, not just for the color variations, but also for the natural imperfection it has.
I call it natural beauty.
This morning I was in the mood to build something.
We just recently decided to stay in town for Thanksgiving, so I wanted to build something for our table.
Four feet long and nine inches wide.
(which I have been using every single day...I love this too)
It is only 2 1/2 feet long.
I wanted a big statement piece,
and I think I achieved what I had in mind.
I filled it with things I already had,
I think some small gourds will be on my grocery shopping list for this week.
I absolutely love it!
The entire centerpiece didn't cost me anything...beside time to take the wood apart, measure, cut it, sand it, and put it together.
I made this using the same steps as
just a bigger version.
Stay Frugal,
Daniela
this is beautiful, and it just gave me an idea for mine! I have some really OLD Vernor's Ginger Ale crates that would be great filled with some Fall goodness. the size of yours really suits the scale of your table.
ReplyDeleteThat looks great, Dani. You are so creative and I love how handy you are.
ReplyDeleteI thought you usually went to Kim's house for Thanksgiving. Sometimes it is nice to stay home and start your own traditions. xo Diana
Love the look - contemporary and rustic. I love gourds, too. I keep mine - they dry out to nice faded fallish color tones, and I've used them for years! I add a few more every year...

What a great job on your wooden tray. You really did a terrific job on both of them.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.

It's beautiful! I love how rustic it is.
ReplyDeleteDaniela, it turned out lovely and I like the size of it. Gourds would be beautiful in it. Enjoy staying home for Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteI love it Daniela! I've been after the hubby to make me one.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I've been thinking about making one too but I need to refinish our table first because everything clashes with it's ugly color!
ReplyDeleteYou never cease to amaze me!! Love it! :)

Oh I love it too! Very pretty and you can decorate that for Christmas too with pretty ornaments and twigs and berries. Hope all is well, great to see you!
ReplyDeleteI like how you get in the mood to "build" things! :P You are just too handy and resourceful. This works perfectly on your table...something you can "theme" year round. XOXO
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I love all of the natural elements. Enjoy your Thanksgiving at home!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great looking centerpiece. I love the look of that old wood too. I like how you filled it with all natural items too. I hate to hear that you won't be joining us for Thanksgiving this year though. I know it's a challenge traveling with all the kids and having your pets taken care of as well.
ReplyDeleteI love reclaimed wood too! Our dining room table is all reclaimed wood. What a great idea for a centre piece, looks fabulous. And imagine what you can do with that at Christmas.
ReplyDeleteDearest Daniela,
ReplyDeleteThis is such a genial idea for using reclaimed wood and it IS pretty. If all people would do this, we would have a lot less pollution for our environment!
Hugs,
Mariette
It's such a great box for all kinds of decorations. I love using a lot of natural elements and wouldn't this be perfect with some evergreen branches for Christmas! Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeletePerfection!
ReplyDeleteIt came out beautiful!!! It would look pretty filled with apples or oranges and candles!
ReplyDeleteThat most certainly is a statement piece. It looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Its rustic feel and the fact that you can use it anywhere and for whatever you want to!
ReplyDeleteI love that huge box! I hate it when I see big tables with a teeny centerpiece in the middle! You definitely made the right statement with that!
ReplyDeletelooks good . . . free . . . homemade
ReplyDeleteDoesn't get much better than that!
This is so cool! (And so are you.) :)
