Lately I have been on a woodworking kick,
and just finished making several sets of coasters.
Now, I am using the woodworking term a little loose. I don't have a lot of professional tools, so I just make the most use of the ones I have.
Anyway, I have decided to use up this beautiful weathered wood, to create rustic
additions to the home.
For each set I cut four 4.5 inches squares.
Smooth the edges out with an electric sander and hand painted industrial numbers on it.
For the paint, I used permanent, water resistant acrylic paint.
They turned out great, and I love the natural wood tones each piece has.
On a different note, everyone seems to be in Fall mode...but we are having one of the hottest week we had the entire summer.
Time to hit the pool this weekend.

Those are lovely, Daniela! They would make excellent hostess or Christmas gifts (and great for hard to buy for guys too.)
ReplyDeleteDearest Daniela,
ReplyDeleteLove the smoothed edges and the hand painted industrial numbers!
As about summer, I'm with you as we had the BEST summer week so far! Lovely weather, high temperatures around 40°C and low humidity with some wind. Our gazebo is in use for tea time and the balcony has been painted; the painters finished it yesterday. So we are not yet ready for the fall!
Hugs and happy Labor Day weekend to all of you and happy swimming.
Mariette
Love the look! I hear you about the heat, in the Midwest we were sweltering all week!
ReplyDeleteThese coasters are perfect! Love the rustic feel too.
ReplyDeleteBTW, it's pretty hot and humid around here too. Unless something changes, our fall might be the actual real fall later in the month. But, who knows!
Well Dani - you did it again - I LOVE these!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck tomorrow!
Hugs,
Suzan

Hello Suzan sent me your way. Your coasters are great, I too love the different wood tones, and the way the numbering brings them all together. Looking forward to reading back through your blog.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Daniela, I am sorry I have not been around just lately, but my mother has been staying with me and I wanted to spend every minute with her. Now everything is back to normal and I can catch up with what you have been up to..... and you never fail to inspire me.
