Inexpensive storage boxes and memo board

I was in need of some storage boxes in our entrance, and I was able to customize some free cardboard boxes.
I painted two boxes with this brand new quart of paint found at the ReStore for $1.

Two smaller boxes (#2 and 5)were covered with dropcloth and attached it with hot glue.
I ended up stenciling numbers on most of the boxes.
I had the bottom black canvas bins for a long time, but I wasn't ready to permanently add a number on it...but I still might do that.
This was a very easy and inexpensive way to add storage.
Even if you buy cheap bins, they are usually flimsy and don't hold up too well.
The cardboard boxes are definitely strong enough to hold the weight
(I think they held office papers from my husband job),
are easy to customize,
and are easily replaceable if needed.

As you can imagine, the amount of paint used in this project was very minimal.
I used the same paint for the memo board above the boxes,
and I am using the same paint on another bigger project I will show you soon.
That's what I have been working on.
So far, here is what I have done today.
I still have this much left.
Not bad for $1 worth of paint.

Stay Frugal,
Daniela

  10. Daniela, I think your boxes and memo board turned out nicely. I often use boxes for storage rather than buy storage containers which are so pricey.
