When we redid our master bathroom, we ended up taking down the half shutters on the window.
We liked it better without it, so there they went to collect dust in our garage...
...until I tripped over it (a year later)
and decided to do something with it!
First I cleaned it really good.
Then I found two different
spots in our home topark put the shutters

One is in our bedroom .
And one is in our living room.
Makes for an unique piece...and hide the cd tower behind it.
I had envisioned to paint it, but then I decided to keep the wood as is.

Such a great use for those left-over shutters! I love the look of shutters in a house. They have become very popular to decorate with (and not just on windows). Your desk area is looking good!

Love the look of your work area. I am always happy to be able to reuse items. We replaced some closet doors and I used the old panels to make a screen for my own project room.

I love those kinds of shutters. I have some on my kitchen windows, and my neighbor had a chippy pair in a pile in his yard that I have gracing the bar space between dining room and kitchen. They do make a sweet accent. Good idea using them to hide something too!

ReplyDeleteYou continue to amaze me. I love the partition you created to hide the cds. I've always loved those kind of dividers. Fortunately, I found a 3-section picture frame one at the garbage dump. Just missing the glass. Let's see what you inspire me to do. :-)
ReplyDeleteI also love to find old window blinds and shutters for my DIY projects. It looks really good as a decor in your house. I personally love it as well for my own house because it adds privacy and useful during the hot season.
