Desk storage

Don't we all  love need some storage!
I know I do.
I am working on a desk area just for me and my little business.
I need a place to put my stuff, crafting tools, packing material and such.
So I pulled out few cans-containers from my stash (I just can't get myself to throw those out)

got some textured wallpaper (that I had for years)
got some dropcloth scraps and my faithful hot glue gun.
First of all, cut the fabric and paper to size. I added numbers to the dropcloth before gluing.
Now is the time to glue it on.
See why I need a space just for me?
This table is getting too crowded for the three arts&crafts lovers!
So here is the finished product.

Can't show it to you in the actual space, because it's not there...yet.
I will have to start working on an old desk that was my husband's father, and on some wall art.
...for now, I have the storage for the desk ready to go!
Oh happy day, when I will learn not to do things backwards.

after

Cost for this project...less than $1
***for the glue and the small amount of wallpaper used.***

Stay Frugal,

  1. I love how that project turned out. That's a good way to recycle something you're not using anymore. Love the dropcloth material used and of course the numbers you added. I'm still enjoying the coasters you made for me too. They're alot prettier than the the other ones I have!

  3. You are going to have an organized and pretty workspace! But those artsy-crafty lovers always manage to be right there wherever you go! I love that pic! :)

  4. What a patient soul to share your crafting space. Not easy, yet look at what you manage to do under tight working conditions. This is such a great idea. I am glad you posted it. I have several tins from cookies I received that I'll never use as is because I don't like the patterns and colors. I was thinking of painting them, but covering them like this would be another great idea!

  6. Darn! I just threw out about 10 cans a friend gave me. They were from some brand of coffee and were sturdy metal cans. I didn't have the space and wasn't sure what I would do with them.

Now you show me a great idea, but I don't have them.

Next time I see her, I will ask if she is still drinking that brand of coffee.
