Beef Stroganoff

When I cook, my first priority is making sure we are getting all the requirements for a healthy balanced meal.
Then, my second priority is how fast I can make it and how budget friendly it is.

I cook around what I have already (bought on weekly store ads), and according on what I find on sale at the store that week.
This week I found mushrooms and onions on sale,
and I had the ground beef in the freezer already...perfect combination for
Beef Stroganoff.

Ingredients:

1 (12 ounce) package egg noodles, cooked and drained

    1/2lb fresh mushrooms, sliced

    1 onion, chopped

    2T butter

    1/2 lb ground beef

    4 tablespoons all-purpose flour

    2 cups beef broth

    16oz sour cream

salt and black pepper to taste
***the recipe calls for 1lb of ground beef, I don't use much meat in general...but I do load up on extra veggies!***

Directions:

Brown ground beef in butter with onion and mushrooms.

Stir in flour until blended.

Add beef broth, salt & pepper.

Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Add sour cream and heat through.

Do not allow to come to a full boil.

This homemade stroganoff makes for a great meal with leftovers.
I also made a side of green beans and had
our rustic bread with it.

Stay Frugal,
