It is no news that I love dropcloth...
I am in love with the texture, the color, the versatility, the "messy look" and the price!
I have used it for many projects (even before I had a blog), and naturally, I have leftover pieces too small for a big project, but not too small for a small project!
I really liked this tea towel I saw on Debbiedoo's blog.
It looks simple, fun and pretty.
Now, this is my version...slightly different because I don't have a stencil, I don't have a tea towel...and my motto is "make the most of what you got"!
I wanted to transfer an Italian recipe of my favorite dessert...Tiramisu'.
This project is pretty much self explanatory.
(the one I used is called Viner Hand ITC)
Cut the dropcloth the size you want the towel to be, and sew the sides.
tape paper on the cloth face down
(carbon copy paper works too)
Done!
I went over the letters one more time, to make it a little darker.
This is a washable, usable towel. I wash all my dropcloth right out of the package, before I start cutting it.
The more you wash dropcloth, the softer it becomes.
tip: do not hurry yourself while doing this project...if you mess up, there is no going back! Slow and steady hand.
Cost of this project FREE

ReplyDeleteFIrst of all, I love the name of your blog! :D Great copycat. I love the tea towel (I just love them in my own kitchen). I am sure that Debbie was thrilled that you copied her. I want to copy most of her projects! (If I only had the time).

ReplyDeleteHi, Daniela.....I just found your blog today and while perusing your awesome projects I ran across this one. I'm wondering what weight your drop cloths are....mine is fairly heavy and I can't imagine it working very well as a towel.
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed looking around your blog!
