Busted water pipes

See the dirt?
someone has been doing some digging!
No, not landscaping...on Thursday night I kept hearing water running. I shut off the water to the house , but still hearing water flowing.
Strange!
Went outside to check , and everything looked fine.
Woke up on Friday morning, went outside, and here there was water coming up from the ground...uhm...not good.

Long story short, 120 ft of water pipes HAD to be replaced.

And after lots of digging, this problem has been taken care of!
 Cheers to new water pipes!
This guys are amazing! we used them when we added a shower to our bathroom and they are awesome!
And here the proof that they do wear overalls!
We just got back from Lowes, where we bought a dirt "pounder", mulch, grass seeds...
Wish us luck, as it is almost 100 degrees out there!

Stay Frugal,
and stay cool!
Daniela

ps. taking suggestion for new landscape!

  1. Love it! (the business name I mean - not that you had to replace pipes). wish more men wore overalls! :)

  2. This is not something you look forward to happening, but I'm so glad you had some quick and reliable help to solve the problem. :-)

  3. Oh, Dani! I admire your upbeat attitude. You could've moaned about it, and you didn't. KUDOS to you. It's not so fun spending big bucks on stuff that's underground. The comic relief of your plumbers card helps, too. AND, if you should ever decide to move, it's added value to your home!

  8. Oh my goodness! I hope that didn't cost too much. Those types of things can be so expensive. I'm glad you were home to notice it happening. That could've been terrible if this had happened while you were gone on vacation! Your water bill would've been huge too! Glad you got it all fixed. Good luck on the new landscaping now.

  10. What a job- We have something similar coming up (maybe). We have water by the lateral that leads to the house. The city is not sure if it is THEIR leak or our leak- we will find out this week- xo Diana

  11. Bummer that you had to have that done; great you already had a good company to deal with. That makes SUCH a difference! We've had far more bad than good contractors so I speak from experience. Good luck in this heat. Have you considered "growing" a stone path? :-)
