Sometime I feel very busy with life...ok, maybe not just sometime.
But I do believe that it is great to stop and think about what truly matters.
Often around Thanksgiving, people become more aware of the "being thankful", but I prefer not to limit it to just a month of the year.
Today I was inspired to make a Thanksgiving
table runner.
With canvas dropcloth and burlap ribbon.
I sew a dropcloth strip of about 15 inches wide and 5 feet long.
I then added a burlap strip with finished edges.
I wrote on it give thanks,
because I can surely use that reminder from time to time.
Stay Frugal,
Daniela
***and I might have sew an extra one (or two)***
That is BEAUTIFUL. So simple yet definitely a statement piece. Did write/paint that by hand without any stencil or anything? I can only assume, knowing you that you did. I am impressed.
ReplyDeleteI just love burlap. It looks really good with your dropcloth. The runner turned out beautifully, and I like what you wrote.
ReplyDeleteXOXO,
Meredith

So pretty in its simplicity!
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I agree that thankfulness should be a focus year round and not just at Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that runner!! I have been looking for one everywhere and I don't like anything. And it's not too expensive. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteQue guapa!!
ReplyDeleteI just love burlap, and we sure need a reminder to give thanks! love it!
Once again, your lettering impresses. Your art school training shines!

Very pretty and I like the lettering. I am a fairly new follower and I make sure I try and be thankful everyday of my life. Not to sound smug but we have lost loved ones in our lives at very young ages. I tried to be grateful all the time!! I hope you can visit Cloches and Lavender and take a look around and decide to follow me back.

I think we can all use that reminder from time to time! Love your table runner...it's simple and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat's a very pretty and unique table runner! You always think of the neatest things to sew. It's a good idea to be thankful year round. It will keep us happier for sure!
ReplyDeleteVery nice Dani! I just did some table runners too! It is that time of year I guess! Thankful I am getting to meet you tomorrow!See you soon!
ReplyDeleteBellissimo questo runner, daniela. Complimenti ! Perfetto per questa stagione...
ReplyDeleteFriend! I LOVE this. It looks so sharp. It's our Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend, I wish I had something fancy pants like that. Did you use a marker or what to write on the burlap? Is it tricky to write on?
ReplyDeleteI love your table runner. I was curious if you added anything else to your store and was so surprised to see so many new items just since I was there last. You really are busy I don't know where you find the time for everything you do with a family.

Love this! The ribbon is simple but makes a big impact (with a great thought behind it!)

I think, you are right, we do need to remember to be thankful all year long.
ReplyDeleteI love it Daniela!!
ReplyDeleteSo simple and elegant. Did you free hand the "give thanks" because it looks so pretty! I'm so impressed! I do have a question for you, on my latest post I was asking people who have Etsy shops if they have any advice for new shop owners and I noticed you have a shop. Any wise words to share? I've had my shop open for 2 weeks now. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove it! It can be used any time!
ReplyDeleteThat is so pretty! What a great idea.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!!
What a lovely table runner. You gave me a great idea for some upholstery webbing I found.

ReplyDeleteI love this idea and so pretty too. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteDearest Daniela,
ReplyDeleteWhat a noble idea!
Yes, we have many reasons to give thanks.
For living in this country, for our access to good (though expensive...) health care. I am grateful I had major surgery here and am healing now. Hugs,
Mariette
What a pretty table runner and great reminder for everyone to see.
