Wire Basket Light

This kitchen light project was long overdue. 

A long ago  few months ago I went to a flea market here in town, and I bought a little something that I wanted to use in my kitchen as a pendant light above the sink.

See, 

this is what I had for a long time. 

It came with the house.

 Beside the fact that it wasn't a beauty to look at, the really annoying thing was the constant buzzing sound from the time you turned it one, to the time you turned it off.

So, back to the flea market finds, this is what I was going to use as a 

pendant.

But turned out to be a little too big for my space, and decided to use that in another project. (which I will share later this week)

Back to square one.

I had bought a pendant light kit to use with the above find, but now needed something different.

Literally two seconds, I looked up 

(I always find my inspiration from above) 

and saw what it was hanging from my pot rack.

Most people use that for this.

I used it for this.

I could not believe how perfectly it fit.

I did not have to cut or bend the bottom of the basket, just removed the handle.

I changed and installed the new electrical part,

and this is the final project.

The old egg basket only cost me $1.

As I was doing dishes tonight, 

I did not dread the infamous buzzing.
