Old scale and her story

While I was at the olive farm, I came across this scale.
It was hidden under other stuff, in a pile.
My mom saw me looking at it, and she

asked me if I wanted it.
Uhm, let me think about it...YES!!!

It had not been used in a VERY long time and was just in a "junk" pile.
She said this belong to my grandfather (her dad) and was used in their home.
So my guess is that this is dated circa 1950.
I was very excited to bring this with me, it's a reminder of my grandfather that passed away almost seven years ago.
I have wonderful memories of him.
This is just perfect for me, and it actually still works.
So this will stay in the kitchen and will be used on a daily basis.
Bringing the past back to life.

Stay Frugal,

  2. Dearest Daniela,
What a lovely heirloom of your Grandfather, so much meaning!
He will be smiling down from heaven for sure! That was heavy for bringing home but so worth it.
    Hugs to you,

  4. The pieces that we are drawn to that come with a story or connection to someone we loved are the best ones to have and treasure. How much nicer to have chosen this rather than to have inherited something you didn't really want or need.

  10. Oh, this is such a gorgeous scale! I love the rustic look but most importantly the sentimental value. Like they say, "One man's junk is another man's treasure." In this case, another woman's treasure. Glad your mom gave this to you. :-)
