Today I am going to share some picture of the beautiful Amalfi (Italy).
What most people might not know, is that Amalfi was well known back in the old world, about paper making.
First of all, let me
share some pictures of this beautiful place.
And this is the paper museum on the outside.
The inside...
Yep, it's underground,
and yes, I was chosen to show others how to make a sheet of paper.
Isn't it cool?
I even bought a few sheets of paper made the old way.
And just fyi,
if you ever decide to go to Amalfi,
bring cash with you...looks like nobody takes credit cards.
Stay Frugal,
Bellissime foto Daniela. Amalfi e una meraviglia... non vedo l'ora di ritornare...
ReplyDeleteThat's so interesting! I bet your kids were very interested in it too. I've never been to Italy, but it looks like a beautiful country.
ReplyDeleteGood Evening Daniela, I visited the Amalfi coast a few years ago and I went to Sorrento and I loved it. We visited a place known as "The Drains" which was row upon row of shops which were shaded from the sun by huge buildings on either side. We also visited the Isle of Capri and actually walked across the island.
ReplyDeleteYou look as if you had a wonderful trip and to get the opportunity to make your own paper..... what a marvellous experience.
Italy is such a beautiful country.
Best Wishes
Daphne
So cool! I enjoyed seeing your pictures Daniela.
ReplyDeleteDearest Daniela,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post about some great historical information.
From which era dates this museum?
Pineider, the Italian luxury stationery paper got founded in 1774 in Florence. So I wonder if this predates Pineider?
Quite interesting and for sure such hand made, often cotton or linen paper, is the best one can get!
You for sure were very capable of touring people.
Hugs,
Mariette
My goodness, Dani~ What a beautiful country you have. You must miss home even though you love the States. I know a big piece of your heart must lie overseas. Gorgeous pictures! xo Diana

ReplyDeleteWOW. I love seeing that some ways of doing things are not left behind for the new and perhaps quicker way of doing things. How much fun to experience this place through your eyes. Glad you bought some paper to bring back home with you.
