TV cart revised

A long time ago
(ok, well at least 10 years ago),
I got this little tv cart to use as a nightstand in my bedroom.
It had wheels and it served it's purpose well.
This little guy has been moved around for a while, wearing different hats...even holding a small tv.
I moved this at the end of our hallway, right outside the girls bedroom.
I needed a place where the girls could sit and put their shoes on AND

I needed some extra shoes' storage.

Now it was time to paint it.
One coat of this
and one coat of latex paint

I added a writing that brings me a smile every time I look at it:
Benvenuti Amici
(welcome friends)

I also made a simple dropcloth skirt to cover the already piled up shoes.
All done.

...well, now I will work on the mirror on the wall...not pictured...

Cost of project $0
the cart was free,
the paint I already had on hand,
the dropcloth was a strip left over from previous projects.

Stay Frugal,

  9. WOW. That turned out great. I love that you hand painted an Italian saying. I also love that you added some drop cloth to hide the shoes...that is brilliant.

  15. What a GREAT, great idea. The hubs always gets on me for keeping all my shoes out in plain view so I might need to find something like this. :)

  19. It looks awesome! It's amazing what a little time and paint can do.

I always like the feeling of having an idea that organizes an area a little better and works for what we're needing in our home.
