Bedroom Makeover...fit for a Princess...or two

Some of you may now say: "finally!"
round pillows come from Grammy's house, the girls saw those on OUR bed,
and it was LOVE at first sight. So in their room they went.
I know, it has been a looooong project, and truthfully it ain't over yet...not completely.
But this is what I have so far,
and the girls Princesses have been enjoying their new room.

the mirror hangs in front of the steps to the top bunk...never trust a 4 and a (almost) 3 year old with bunk beds :)

I have been working on this room on and

off, and really needed some motivation in getting it done.
My goal was to update the room, making it lighter and brighter.
The beadboard wallpaper over the paneling involved several steps.
(here the details)
I could not removed the paneling because it was glued to the drywall. Yikes.
Let's just say that I am SO glad it's over.
For the gallery wall I used frames from the $store, leftover wood pieces and the $1 coat rack that I rescued here.
And here some more pictures of the gallery wall.
the watercolor angel was a gift from a neighbour when I was a child :)
On the other wall, there is a built in bookcase.

For now the little girls are sharing the bed,
in a couple of years the oldest will be relocating to the top bunk.
This is how it looks...
I will be starting few projects to transform this top bunk into a reading and playing area.
And sewing curtains...

For now I am just looking to recover from my last kidney stones surgery and (re)gain some weight during the Holidays.

Breakdown cost for this makeover
Paint $1 (ReStore find)
Beadboard wallpaper 1 roll $18
3 White Sheer curtains for bed $4 each
Coat hook $1 find
Frames, mirror, bench and everything else already owned
Total spent $32

Stay Frugal,

  19. Your girl's room is soooo sweet! I love the grey and white. That's an elegant color combo for a girl's room. The bunk beds look so cute and feminine with the draperies added to them. That was a great idea! The little round pillows are perfect on their beds too. I bet they're all getting very excited for Santa's arrival soon.
