Christmas Stocking French Inspired

I have been so busy sewing lately, but even so, I decided I wanted to try to make a Christmas stocking.

Here is how I did it.
First of all I

drew the stocking on a piece of paper.

Just the size I was looking for.
Nothing fancy.
I then traced the stocking unto the canvas (with a pencil), leaving about 1/4" extra for the seam.

I then sew the 2 layers of canvas inside out.

Turn the fabric right side up.
You can now leave as is,

or add a writing/design of your choice.
I went with this,

and it looks super cute!
This would make a great personalized gift.

Stay Frugal,

Adorable! I'm doing new stockings from drop cloth this year, too. I like the long, skinny ones. :)

How fun! I made our stockings last year. This time I want to try to make a tree skirt.

Really cute stocking.

I am thinking that I need to dig in the attic for the burlap stockings I made years ago.

My kidlettes go to French school, I am pretty sure my oldest would get a kick out of this stocking. Very pretty and so simple. Love it.

Very cute! I made stockings out of burlap a couple of years ago, but I may try some out of regular fabric too!

It really turned out nice. I want to make stockings this year but I need to get my sewing machine serviced first....it's always something, isn't it? I can't wait to do some Christmas projects!
