I don't know many that can...
I have been making bread for years...I heart bread!
Today I am going to show you how I make Artisan bread.
Really, this is very simple
6 cups of flour
3 cups of lukewarm/room temperature water
1 1/2 T of yeast
pinch of salt
(if using whole wheat flour, use only about 5 cups of it and you might want to add a couple of T of wheat gluten...to help with the rising. I also soak/ferment my whole wheat flour for 12 to 24 hours to make it easier to digest)
Mix lukewarm water with yeast and salt.
Add flour and mix with wooden spoon. Dough should be "wet".
NO kneading necessary, NO punching down. Cover and let it rise for 2 hours.

Shape into loaf (adding some flour to prevent sticking on your hands) and let the dough rise again for another 45minutes.
Bake at 400 for 40 minutes on a pizza stone (if you have it).
Add a Pyrex with hot water to add moisture during the baking.

This is a video you can watch...if you are a visual learner like me. The people in the video are the authors of the book.
You could put the plain dough (after it rises for 2 hours) in the fridge, and use it up to 2 weeks. I also use this dough as pizza crust!
Buon appetito!
Stay Frugal,

You make bread baking look so easy. I guess I must give it a try again. I haven't been able to successfully make "real" bread...not even in a breadmaker. *sigh*
how do you serve this? Similar to serving rolls? Not for sandwiches I'm assuming. It's beautiful! Mind if I 'pin' it?
Gosh, that looks good! Does the bread naturally seperate like that on top from baking? It looks so pretty. This recipe looks very easy. I may give this a try. I love bread!
Not only does that bread look delicious, it also looks beautiful. That is impressive.
When do you put in the cuts on the top of the loaf? It looks delicious!
Good Morning Daniela, I have found you via Wow us Wednesday and love the idea of a no kneading, no punching bread. This is a loaf I am definitely going to make. Enjoy your day, Best Wishes Daphne
I LOVE bread and I can just smell this now!

I can't resist the smell of freshly baked bread either! I love to bake bread with my girls, they love making the dough and watching it rise! Thanks for sharing this recipe, we will have to give artisan bread a try!
I would like to try this, but..how much sugar? There isn't a measurement for that...thanks.
Che', is a typo...no sugar in my bread :)
