Alfredo sauce

I really love when I read "easy" on a recipe...
...that's my kind of recipe!
Being a full time stay at home mom, I really don't have a lot of time to slave spend in the kitchen.
At least not every day!
But I like to cook, to try new foods and feed my family (especially the mister). Then again, I am full blood Italian and we like to feed people...mangia, mangia!

So here is a super easy recipe for Alfredo sauce, the measure/dump/blend/cook kind of recipe:
2 cups of milk
3 oz. cream cheese
pinch of salt
2 Tbsp flour

Put all the ingredients in the blender,

give it a good shake (30sec. or so), and transfer it to a pot.

As the burner warms up (this race cars mama sets it on high), use a whisk to keep the sauce from sticking to the bottom. Keep stirring, it will thicken up in a minute or two.

Remove from burner, add any or all of the following:
pepper, garlic powder, Parmesan cheese and use it with your favorite pasta (mine is Barilla).

You could also add precooked/grilled chicken if you like, I usually don't...

Easy. Can I have an Amen to that?

For my frugal readers:
total cost of this dinner (sauce and pasta) around $1 (if you get your pasta and cream cheese on sale or with coupons), or around $3 if you don't mess with sales/coupons.
This recipe makes 4 generous portions.
Enjoy your dinner

Stay frugal,

I'm going to try this. Sounds like a very easy way to prepare alfredo sauce (which I love, but dislike the ones in a jar). Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog. :-)
